Chayse's Lego Party

Chayse picked a LEGO theme for his party this year, which worked out perfectly- we have a new Lego building shop in our area that hosts parties! He invited a few buddies from school, along with his siblings, for a one-and-a-half hour lesson in building and engineering concepts! It was perfect. The kids loved it and stayed busy & focused the entire time, and there was no clean-up for the grown-ups! Yay!

Just a few handmade touches...

Favors were mini take-out boxes full of Candy Blox, which actually link together like real Legos! The boxes were each topped with a LEGO minifigures pack, and a Lego head pop. I topped marshmallows with an m&m, using melted chocolate as glue, stuck them on lollipop sticks, dipped into yellow candy melts, and piped on little chocolate faces. Chayse added 'Thanks' tags to the sticks.

For the pizza & cake table, we used square plates and polka-dotted napkins that looked like the tops of Legos. Mini water bottles reminded me of Lego heads, so I wrapped them with yellow paper and drew on funny faces.

This was a really fun party idea, especially for an "older" kid, who may not be into themed parties much longer. *sniff-sniff* Our Lego-obsessed kids were ecstatic to have literally any size/shape/color LEGO at their fingertips!

Would it be good for "5", too? My guy's birthday is at the end of March and I've been thinking about what we should do! Sounds like fun!

My goodness - that kid of yours is CUTE CUTE CUTE!

My favorite part of all of this are Chayse's little handwritten "thanks" tags. A very sweet touch.

Happy birthday Chayse!!!
