umm... now what?

*Updated 8/18- Okay, I woke up to this litttle ticker telling me 1 more day...
Apparently after you hit zero they start adding days?
Great.

OR maybe this thing is trying to tell me I have one more overdue day left?
Either way... stiiiil pregnant.

Cookie Monday

My Hollas and I, we like crack. Toffee crack, french toast crack, blue cheese crack.... there are many varieties, we are proudly addicted to them all.

Crispy crack was my contribution to our short time together last week. For some reason, almost all of our photos included food (or spilled water... but that's a different story).

Try this concoction:
(And by the way, just eat a big piece right off the bat. There is no point in saying "I'll just have a small piece," and then eating four or five small pieces, one after the other.)

1. Butter 9x9 inch baking dish.

2. Melt over medium-low heat:

1/2 stick butter
5 cups mini marshmallows
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
pinch salt

3. Add 6 cups rice krispies.

4. Spread 1/2 of the mixture in buttered pan.

5. Top with:

1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
3/4 cups chocolate chips, melted

6. Repeat. (Another layer each of rice krispy mix, peanut butter, then chocolate.)

7. Chop up 3 Skor bars and sprinkle over the top layer.

8. Allow to cool (or don't) & cut into 16 squares.

Scrumptious with leftover pizza, wine (ice water for those of us who have been pregnant for like a year), and The Bachelor Pad (you know you watch it).

ten on ten (on eleven.)

Take a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours on the tenth of each month. Document a day of your life and find beauty among the ordinary moments!

Who do these ten happy feet belong to?
Hop over here to see.
Her ten on ten from yesterday just happens to be mine, too.

(still pregnant.)

i'm still pregnant.

Well, it's 8-9-10.
All along, I have been thinking this would be a cool date for Cole to be born.
I guess there's still time...

Speaking of nerdy number stuff, go check out what my friend Mel is doing this week!
She started her blog 08-08-08, and is hosting a big giveaway in honor of her blogoversary...

sew ready!

There has been a lot of nesting going on around here!
And lots of action on the old Viking...

Here we have the controversial quilt- finished product!

After much hesitation, I broke down and finally did the binding myself. I did it on the machine, not perfect, but not too shabby for my first attempt.

I LOVE this quilt.

What did I do with the extra fabric scraps? Made a quilted diaper bag of course!

Here's the interior, packed and ready to go. {Never to be this organized again.}

Nursing cover.

Portable changing pad...

with dipes & wipes pocket.

Organic french terry wipes.
Yep, we plan on primarily cloth diapering/wiping.
These wipes take about two minutes each to make, and cost about 40 cents each.
{Which should eventually save us about $500, not to mention the environmental benefit.}

Car seat tent.

This is the Bumbleride Flite, which I'll be reviewing soon on Mama Manifesto! So excited to use it!

I also had a few random projects. I wanted organic bassinet sheets, but didn't want to pay a ridiculous amount, so I made my own at $8 a yard.

Also, I inherited a really cool old vanity from my grandma, that will double as a changing table for a while. Since it's an odd size, I had to make the changing pad from scratch. I used 2" foam (bought at 50% off), covered it in PVC-free waterproof fabric, then made an organic french terry slipcover. Super cheap, easy, and the exact size I wanted!

I am 38 weeks. According to that little widget in my sidebar, I have 12 days to go.

As of today, I'm dilated 3 centimeters, 50% effaced, and he's at a -2 station.
I had my membranes stripped this morning (fun), and I'm in pretty severe discomfort right now.

So 12 days may not be so accurate...

But I think we're ready.
