"Revealed": A Sex Party
Okay, so we're talking about Baby C's gender here, but sex party sounds more fun.
Yesterday I had my 'big' ultrasound, where the technician did, indeed, determine the baby's gender "without a doubt."
So we threw a little movie & popcorn reveal to celebrate!

PINK & BLUE everything! We narrowed down our 'C' contenders.
Everyone displayed their predictions with pink or blue ribbon clothespins. It was just about even.We had already told the big kids the news, but not Camden.
I used my mom's cool idea of drawing a pink or blue heart in a sealed envelope and letting her open it.
So, in front of the whole family, she opened it and announced:
BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We could not be more excited!
Here's a peek at our little guy:
and just in case it wasn't clear...
It's definitely aBOY!

the beach house
In honor of Grandma Barb's 70th birthday the entire family spent 5 days in good old hometown San Diego. We rented a beach house right on the Mission Beach boardwalk.Days and nights were spent soaking in the perfect weather, building sandcastles, collecting sand dollars, biking, boarding, not caring what time it was, wine tasting, BBQing, bean bag tossing (Kevin's handmade game), being barefoot, and getting sunburned. Swimsuits were on by 7am, and in some cases- ahem... Kevin- never came off. It was also a celebration of a few other March birthdays, including my mom's and Camden's. We're ready to go back this weekend!

keepin' it real. (or TMI)
Well folks, upon review of the So Cal photos, I think it's time to take some action.
This pregnancy will not take me down.
May I direct your attention to exhibit C (ellulite), below:

First off, let me say I wouldn't normally be caught in booty shorts at Disneyland.
When packing, I threw these non-maternity-but-stretchy-in-the-waist shorts in my bag JUST IN CASE.
It was 80 degrees.
And now, exhibit D (imple-free),
same thigh, this time last year:
In 2005 I went through a pilates phase.
This is my favorite workout video:
(If Kevin is reading this, he just fell off the chair laughing at the thought of me having a favorite workout anything.)
I was just going to completely crop my thigh out of that Monorail shot, but instead, this is my attempt at actually holding myself accountable for staying "in shape" this pregnancy.Today I will find the time to dust off Denise.
And start cutting out sugar.

Celebrating birthdays, Spring, and the fact that I
NO LONGER FEEL SICK 24 hours a day!
I am 19 weeks along.
But last night Mr. Cookie Mondays said, with serious concern:
"I can't believe you have let this much time go by without posting."
Bad blogger!
Lots more to come on our trip to San Diego & Disneyland,
and Camden's Dorothy Party...

Mat sat on Sam.
I love BOB books!
Chloe started them in preschool and she was reading fluently in no time.
Well, only six months until Chayse starts Kindergarten,
so guess what we started this week?

And guess who already mastered Book 1?!One down, 49 to go.

maternity refashions
Just in the last few days, I have come across some really good DIY maternity clothes ideas.
I don't know why I have been so stubborn about buying maternity clothes this time around. I think I am just in denial about already having outgrown everything.
(...I write as I sit with my pants fully unbuttoned & unzipped, yet still uncomfortable.)
I need to suck it up and use these tutorials, so I no longer have to suck it in.
