How about a recap and an update.
A brand-new American Girl doll. Meant for Chloe, not Camden:
After 7 months of compulsive hair twirling/thumb sucking:
(This was the last time you saw Emily... And I thought this was really bad.)
In October my mom brought up my sister's and my vinatge AG's and all their cool clothes. Here we have a glimpse at a fashion show, in which Camden had an anxiety attack about Emily's hair going under that rain hat:
How does Emily's hair look today, almost a year after my first Emily post?It looks awesome.
And no, we will not be sending her in to the American Girl hospital for a brand new head. Once it's gone, it's gone. See, Camden ONLY sucks her thumb while holding (what's left of) Emily's dreadlocks. There are no substitutions. She immediately picked Crystal as her American Idol fave this season, simply because of the matching dreads.

Bahahahahaha! Wow, now THAT is the definition of a bad hair day. Poor baby, she looks so sad in that last picture. Wow... sounds like Emily could use some Rogaine. If only all of us could have a "head replacement" when we had a bad hair day.
Love the vintage AG's. Do not love poor, poor Emily. Sort of having an anxiety attack looking at her. Head replacement. Who knew.
I am laughing out loud. Hysterical.
Poor Emily, she has seen better days for sure!
that is the best post ever :)
Duuude...
Maybe it will be like people who cut down their kids' pacifiers until they are just nubs and the kids lose interest?
I don't know though, Camden is pretty stubborn.
Ok, I almost peed my pants Heather!
That is the saddest looking doll I've ever seen!
Kinda sorta just as frightening as a CHUCKY doll. Sorta. AHHHH!
I can't stop laughing... there's an American Girl hospital where they can replace body parts? Who knew! Poor Emily.
Dolls have always freaked me out and now that one for sure will be added to my doll "house of horrors".
You can tell she sure was loved lots tho :)
This is hysterical! Poor Emily....
WOW...that is VERY similar to Chucky. :) ha ha ha.
I'm dying laughing! That is too funny :)
LOVE IT!!!!!
Wow that doll looks rough! She has had a life of "love" :)
Oh my gosh, this is way too funny! Poor Cam!
And I have the 1990 Samantha too!!
OMG. You just inspired a post. I have my 1990 Samantha still as well. And my girls wont ever play with her cause her hair looks so horrible. Albeit, NOTHING like Emily's!!
Dying. I had to show my girls. They were MORTIFIED. Freaking out, asking "Why?! Why does the doll LOOK LIKE THAT?!" and I couldn't tell them...cause I couldn't stop laughing long enough to get the words out.
I feel bad for laughing but this is hilarious. That poor doll! Aw, sweet Camden.
kind of looks like a horror movie....
yikes.
Om my. Emily reminds me of my 11 yr old step daughter. She still plays with her dolls and combs, combs their hair until it's all gone. The last doll I seen only had 1 strand of yarn hair with a barrette on it!
You crack me up! Loved this post.
This is so funny! Emily and I share the same hairdo early in the mornings. :)
My Emily has that Emily doll. I thought their hair was supposed to be indestructible...your daughter has proven them wrong. Her sad face is too cute ;)
I love the rasta-inspired Emily.(Who knew this look was hot in England in the '40s?)
I just had to comment because the original 'girls' took me in their way-back machine. I remember the 'original three' when it was owned by Pleasant Company and not Mattel!
I actually wrote a complaint letter when they discontinued Samantha and Kirsten! How could they!?
Life With Crazies: Yep, they have a hospital, complete with head transplants (something I wish I could have sometimes.) They come back in a hospital gown and a get well balloon!
