did i mention i'm HUGE?

  • weight: 134.5 (39 lbs. gained to date)
  • blood pressure: great
  • belly measurement: 34 (2 weeks ahead)
  • baby's head is down... way down
  • fetal heart rate: great, 140s-150s
  • major complaint: I'm huge... constant back & pelvic pain... sort of feels like his head is being drilled into my pelvis.
  • doctor's orders: rest during the day... funny.
  • next appointment scheduled: 35 weeks

  • So with school being out, Chloe finally had the opportunity to join us at the appointment. How about some highlights of her experience?

  • She was disgusted at my peeing in a cup, then appalled at my storing the test tube safely in my purse.
  • She was repulsed by the female anatomy diagrams posted around the room.
  • She asked me what a vagina was (rhymed with "WAG-in-uh")
  • She quietly and politely interrupted the doctor to ask me if we had lemons at home.
  • After learning what checking my cervix entailed (for a future appointment), she informed the room she'd rather, quote: "take a plane to Canada than come to that appointment."

So this post has me laughing!! My kids have been going to the doctor with me from Day 1. I make them turn around when I have to pee in the cup but they are not stupid! They TOTALLY know what is going on and ask over and over and over again why I have to do it. I have even caught them pretend playing the same thing? Making their stuffed animals pee into containers. Nice!

It has gotten slightly more awkward since the doctor has been checking me, but they are pretty oblivious which is good! The iPhone works wonders for distraction!!

You look great! I have gained 40 pounds with this baby and can't believe it. Thirty is the most I gained with my other two pregnancies. Oh well - I can lose it!!

Hang in there! Sorry you are in so much pain already!!

Oh my goodness. Chloe. So freaking funny. HOW does she not know what a VAGina is by now? Maybe I made a mistake by telling Mel she should talk to you about how to have the "where babies come from" conversation with kids... :P

I think you look adorable. And seriously, get some rest.

And, I am for sure not taking Tegan's advice about talking to you....hahaha! Or, maybe I will..ignorance is bliss, right?

I've had to have 3 ultrasounds so far to keep checking on a low-lying placenta...the most recent being this week. My daughter (age 6 1/2) wanted to go with me to see her baby sister, whom she is especially excited about with 2 little brothers at home. My 2-year-old son was at home with a sitter, and my 4-year-old son opted to come with us also. All was fine and good until the technician decided to check the placenta via internal u/s. I wasn't sure how the kids would handle that, but I managed to stay covered pretty well. So I think they managed to escape unscathed. :)

I think you look great! Your daughter is funny.

The end is near for us! Mine might be closer...I think they are taking her early via c-section because of that darn placenta. I find out Monday.

    Good luck!
