Operation: Christmas Cookie

*Week One*

This month all Cookie Monday cookies will be packaged, and randomly (and secretly!) distributed to front porches.

Our Mission: to spread Christmas cheer among family, friends, neighbors and strangers... to GIVE anonymously just for the joy of GIVING... to spend extra time in the kitchen together, getting our hands all sticky and sprinkly.

The Elves: we have three of the best trained, most jolly little elves on the job, but their identities must remain strictly confidential, for the sake of the Mission.

Flip on your Christmas lights and keep a close watch on your doorstep...
YOU may be next.

Week One: Sneaky Snickerdoodles

2 3/4 cups A.P. flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temp
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 Tablespoon sanding sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
2. Cream butter and sugar in an electric mixer; incorporate eggs and vanilla until well blended.
3. Quickly add flour mixture to butter mixture, until barely blended.
4. Mix cinnamon & sanding sugar in a small bowl. Roll walnut-sized balls of dough in the mixture until coated.
5. Bake 12 minutes; cool on wire racks, before packaging for delivery.
{makes 20-24 cookies}

Oh how I want to make some goodies and be a good little elf. We're heading out of town and the Christmas schedule is just too busy. I bet I can squeeze in a couple batches of cookies and some fudge. Thanks for the motivation!
